DuPont has introduced Nomex MHP fabrics, the latest breakthrough in flame resistant innovations. Nomex MHP offers inherent, multi-hazard protection that can help keep wearers safe from a variety of thermal hazards, including heat and flame, arc flash and small molten metal splashes in hazardous industrial areas. “For more than 40 years, people working in the most dangerous jobs have trusted Nomex to offer the best thermal protection on the market,” says Marc Doyle, president, DuPont Protection Technologies. “With the introduction of Nomex MHP, DuPont is exceeding the current standards in multi-hazard protection, continuing to innovate and offer new solutions to help keep people safe worldwide.” DuPont Protection Technologies leverages the investment in the 12 innovation centers and more than 150 research and development facilities that DuPont operates around the world to offer a wide range of proven, science-based solutions to help keep people safe. Nomex MHP was engineered in response to market needs and to meet or exceed the international standards for heat and flame protection (NFPA2112, ENISO11612), arc flash (NFPA 70E, IEC 61482-2) and small molten metal splash protection (ENISO11611), while excelling in comfort, durability and value. Engineered to absorb moisture, Nomex MHP dries faster than cotton the company says and offers a number of features for superior wearability, including a lighter weight, and was proven the overall winner in key comfort criteria in independent studies conducted by an institute for textiles and clothing. Nomex MHP also excels in durability and value; it is more durable than FR treated cotton and other typical modacrylic blends, making it more cost effective. Additionally, the qualities of Nomex MHP help ensure wash and color fastness and low shrinkage from washing, helping workers to look their best and move comfortably on the job site. DuPont Nomex fiber has offered thermal protection around the world for decades. Workers across the manufacturing, chemical and refining industries depend on its thermal protection to help keep them safe. Nomex MHP extends the brand by taking on new thermal hazards and offering manufacturers optimized multi-hazard protection for their personal protective equipment.
